LOOKING
FOR G-d's DOORBELL is a tragi/comedy about one parent/child journey
through the Americanized terrain of Bar Mitzvah. It is about that
inevitable searching of the soul that every parent experiences when
compelled to reflect upon their own religious upbringing, as they
press their children towards the ritual show of matriculation into
the adult community. You will negotiate the landscape of caterers,
party themes, and generations worth of ironies with this team as
they grope their way toward a deeper spiritual root and more profound
understanding of what Judaism can be.
When shared at CAJE 23 the standing room audience laughed till they cried
and offered a long standing ovation.
"Spellbinding, heartwarming, and yet oh so familiar, a wonderful evocation
of the struggle to keep one's children rooted in Judaism. " Linda Weltner-The Boston Globe
